The Best Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers

The Best Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers

Finding a great gluten-free, non-alcoholic beer is hard enough. Finding one that’s also safe for celiac disease can feel nearly impossible. That’s why I wanted to share the best Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beer out there!

The good news is that more breweries are creating delicious gluten-free beverages than ever before. Whether you’re participating in Dry January, cutting back on alcohol, or simply looking for more non-alcoholic drinks, you don’t have to give up the taste of a great beer.

Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers Versus Gluten-Reduced

If you have celiac disease, though, it’s important to know the difference between a truly gluten free beer and a gluten-reduced NA beer. Many alcohol-free beers begin with gluten-containing grains like barley. Even after the alcohol is removed, the final product still contains gluten. That means these beers are not safe for people with celiac disease.

Athletic Brewing and Big Drop Brewing are both gluten-reduced and not celiac safe. While Go Brewing is 100% gluten-free

Instead, look for beers brewed entirely with gluten-free grains. This helps eliminate the risk of cross-contamination and avoids the immune response that gluten can trigger.

In this post, I recommend two breweries that are 100% celiac-safe. However, the beers at the end of the post are all gluten-reduced. Meaning they are NOT safe for people with celiac disease.

Here are my two favorite gluten-free non-alcoholic beers.

100% Gluten-Free, Non-Alcoholic Beers

These first two beers are celiac-safe because they are made completely without gluten-containing ingredients. While the beers listed below them are made to reduce gluten and are therefore not celiac-safe.

1. Go Brewing Freedom Series (Crafted Without Gluten)

Go Brewing is one of the few breweries offering multiple non-alcoholic beers made specifically without traditional gluten-containing grains. Their Freedom Series includes three beers: Freedom California PaleFreedom Amber, and Freedom Hazy IPA. Each brew contains less than 0.5% ABV and is made with millet, buckwheat, and certified gluten-free oats instead of barley or wheat. The beers are independently tested, and Go Brewing publishes batch-specific lab results, giving customers added confidence in what they’re drinking.

Even better, you can order their Freedom variety pack on Amazon!

The Freedom California Pale delivers bright citrus and tropical hop flavors, while Freedom Amber offers a smooth, malt-forward profile that’s perfect for those who miss traditional amber ales. If you’re an IPA fan, the Freedom Hazy IPA has juicy tropical notes and a soft, hazy finish that rivals many alcoholic craft beers. Although Go Brewing labels these beers as “crafted without gluten” rather than “gluten-free,” they are brewed without barley or wheat using gluten-free ingredients and undergo testing before release.

2. Departed Soles Brewing Co. – Nunya (CELIAC SAFE!)

Departed Soles Brewing Co. has been one of my favorite gluten-free breweries for years, and I can’t recommend them enough. Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, they’ve built an incredible reputation for producing high-quality craft beer while taking gluten-free brewing seriously.

Unlike many breweries that simply offer one gluten-free option, Departed Soles has a dedicated gluten-free brewing program and is phenomenal about making people with celiac disease feel safe and included. I’ve enjoyed just about every gluten-free beer they’ve released, from hoppy IPAs to rich seasonal brews, and they’ve consistently proven that you don’t need barley to make exceptional craft beer.

Now I’m especially excited because they’ve released Nunya, their first gluten-free non-alcoholic beer. As someone who has loved their alcoholic beers for years, I couldn’t be happier to see them expanding into the non-alcoholic market. It’s refreshing to see a brewery that already understands the needs of the celiac community continue to innovate with safe, gluten-free options.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a can of Nunya, and if it’s anything like the rest of Departed Soles’ lineup, I have a feeling it’s going to become another favorite.

If you want to try great gluten-free (alcoholic) beer check out my post on my Top 10 Gluten-Free beer as well!

Two Holidaily Beers behind text that says 10 best gluten-free beers

Gluten-Reduced Non-Alcoholic Beers (NOT celiac safe)

The following beers are GLUTEN-REMOVED, meaning they are not safe for those with celiac disease. They are good options though for people who can tolerate some gluten because they are gluten-free by choice.

1. Athletic Brewing – Upside Dawn Golden (GLUTEN REDUCED, Not Celiac Safe)

If you’re looking for a traditional beer experience without the alcohol, Athletic Brewing’s Upside Dawn is one of the best options available.

This golden-style brew has a clean, crisp flavor that closely resembles the real thing. It’s light, refreshing, and pairs well with everything from burgers to pizza. If you’re new to non-alcoholic pale brew styles, this is a fantastic place to start.

One important note: Athletic Brewing is famous for its alcohol-free beers, but not every beer they make is gluten-free. Always read the label carefully and verify the gluten content of this product before purchasing. People with celiac disease should never assume a brewery’s entire lineup is safe.

If you can find a certified gluten-free version in your area, it’s one of the best non-alcoholic brews I’ve tasted.

2. Big Drop Brewing Co. (Gluten-Reduced, Not Celiac Safe)

Big Drop Brewing Co. has become a big name in the world of craft NA-beers. Located in the U.k they offer a growing variety of gluten-reduced options that don’t sacrifice flavor.

One standout is Big Drop Reef Point, a refreshing pale ale with balanced citrus notes. If you enjoy trying different styles, Big Drop also produces darker beers, IPAs, and seasonal releases.

Their goal has always been creating the exceptional taste of traditional craft beer without alcohol. According to their website, their beers test at 10 ppm of gluten. Unfortunately, because I have celiac disease, I would not trust even that little amount.

They continue expanding their alcohol-free beer selection. Availability can vary because of limited supply.

3. Grüvi’s Non-Alcoholic Golden Lager (Gluten-Reduced, Not Celiac Safe)

If you’re looking for a flavorful non-alcoholic lager, Grüvi’s Non-Alcoholic Golden Lager has earned a loyal following for its crisp, light taste and classic beer flavor. Brewed with barley, hops, yeast, and water, it’s designed to mimic a traditional American lager while containing less than 0.5% ABV. Grüvi also states that this beer is gluten-reduced, testing at less than 10 ppm of gluten per serving, which appeals to some people avoiding gluten for lifestyle reasons.

However, if you have celiac disease, this beer is not considered safe. Although the gluten content is reduced, it is still brewed with barley, a gluten-containing grain. Grüvi clearly states on its website that the beer is not gluten-free—only gluten-reduced.

For people with celiac disease, experts generally recommend choosing beers that are brewed from naturally gluten-free grains, rather than beers made from barley and treated to reduce gluten. If you’re looking for a truly celiac-safe option, stick with beers from dedicated gluten-free breweries like Holidaily, Ghostfish, or Departed Soles’ gluten-free lineup and for non-alcoholic beers choose the two listed above.

4. Bravus Brewing (Gluten-Reduced, Not Celiac Safe)

Bravus Brewing has become one of the most recognizable names in the non-alcoholic beer world, offering everything from IPAs and amber ales to peanut butter stouts. Their Non-Alcoholic IPA is especially popular thanks to its hoppy aroma, citrus notes, and craft beer flavor that’s remarkably close to a traditional IPA. Bravus uses a proprietary brewing process and states that all of its beers are brewed to reduce gluten, testing at less than 20 ppm. They also note that their beers are vegan, contain less than 0.5% ABV, and are made with malted barley.

However, Bravus beers are not celiac safe. Because they are brewed with barley, a gluten-containing grain, the beers are considered gluten-reduced, not gluten-free. Although the brewery states their beers test below 20 ppm, current recommendations from celiac experts are that gluten-reduced beers should be avoided by people with celiac disease. Testing methods for fermented beverages have limitations, and the gluten content cannot be reliably verified.

If you have celiac disease, it’s safest to choose non-alcoholic beers brewed entirely from naturally gluten-free grains instead of barley-based, gluten-reduced

Are Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers Safe?

Not all alcohol-free beers are 100% gluten-free.

Many breweries use traditional methods and brew with barley before removing the alcohol. While some companies test for a low ppm of gluten, these beers still begin with gluten-containing ingredients.

Some may contain trace amounts of gluten after the brewing process. That’s why they’re generally not recommended for people with celiac disease.

The safest choice is always a beer brewed entirely with gluten-free grains from start to finish. Which is why my top two recommendations are Go Brewing’s Freedom Series and Departed Soles’ Nunya.

Final Thoughts

Thankfully, the market for gluten-free non-alcoholic beer continues to grow. As more breweries recognize the demand for gluten-free diets and changing dietary preferences, we’re seeing an exciting range of gluten-free beverages become available.

Whether you’re looking for a light summer drink, reducing your alcohol intake, or simply trying something new, these beers prove you don’t have to settle for less.

Have a favorite gluten-free NA beer that I should try? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to discover more great options for the gluten-free community.

Best Gluten Free Places Near King of Prussia

Best Gluten Free Places Near King of Prussia

If you’re searching for gluten-free restaurants near King of Prussia, you’re in luck! The King of Prussia Mall area has become one of my favorite places to find safe and delicious food while traveling with celiac disease. (I especially love the surrounding area outside the mall too – I list my favorite places below!).

As someone who has dealt with gluten sensitivity issues for a long time, I’m always looking for restaurants that understand cross-contamination, take food allergy protocols seriously, and offer a welcoming environment for people with specific dietary needs.

This guide covers my good experiences both inside the mall and within a few miles nearby. Whether you’re looking for great gluten-free dining,, a traveler, or a celiac partner, this visitor’s guide should help you find your next great spot.

Bartaco (My Absolute Favorite Restaurant)

If I had to pick my absolute favorite restaurant near King of Prussia, it would be Bartaco—and it’s not even close.

The pork belly tacos here are truly the best meal I’ve had in the area. They are honestly out of this world, and despite many attempts at trying and experimenting at home, I still haven’t come close to recreating them.

I’ve eaten here about half a dozen times, and it has consistently been a great experience for gluten-free diners.

During our most recent visit in March 2026, we had an incredible waiter named Lukas. The first thing he said when I made a note of my gluten allergy was that he understood celiac disease and would make sure the kitchen handled everything correctly. It’s always reassuring when a different person serving you actually understands the difference between a dietary preference and celiac disease or a serious food allergy!

Why Bartaco Is a Great Option for Gluten-Free Dining

  • A large number of naturally gluten-free menu items
  • Staff who understand cross contamination
  • Plenty of gluten-free options
  • Fresh ingredients and a huge selection of different GF items

All of the tacos are served on corn tortillas, making them naturally safe for gluten-free needs. I always confirm preparation and ask specific questions about shared fryer risks, but I’ve had nothing but good experiences here.

For me, this is the only thing I crave every time I’m visiting King of Prussia.

Review snippet:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — My favorite place in the area. The pork belly tacos alone make this a great gluten-free spot, and the staff truly understands the importance of protecting against cross contamination.

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse

https://tb-static.uber.com/prod/image-proc/processed_images/62e7643e4f63e6474c31a0a7442eeebd/560a11f5d26e4cb83686f7810a5f5fe2.jpeg

If you’re celebrating special occasions or just want an upscale italian restaurant, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is a great place inside the King of Prussia Mall.

I haven’t dined here yet because we much prefer Bartaco, but based on their Find Me Gluten Free Reviews, they’re very familiar with dietary needs, and the kitchen is accommodating when you state you are sensitive to cross-contamination.

What to Expect

  • Several gluten-free items – including gluten free bread!
  • Knowledgeable staff who answer specific questions
  • A menu that can be adjusted for celiac disease and gluten allergies

While not everything is safe due to non-GF items prepared in the same kitchen, many have found it to be a great gluten option for special occasions.

The Melting Pot

https://images.openai.com/static-rsc-3/BMKrYCNXOkvUqNWSQHerLIGqa3EtZHfo4_H9i2reDXkMDqziQYbg0JjISNVdLg-31cOKbDOVtKVXPIoWAy-vwxGE3OwS7dSRqJ99KnVPKpM?purpose=fullsize&v=1

For a fun and unique gluten-free dining experience, The Melting Pot is a great spot.

Fondue can actually work well for people with celiac disease because you can control what goes into your pot. When you mention a food allergy, the staff can provide gluten-free selections like vegetables, fruits, and certain proteins.

Tips for Gluten-Free Diners

  • Request items from a different station if possible
  • Avoid dipping foods that come from areas with shared fryer risk
  • Confirm which sauces contain non-GF items

This is a fun choice for a fun date night!

True Food Kitchen

If you’re looking for a health-focused restaurant with a lot of accommodations for dietary preference and free diet lifestyles, True Food Kitchen is another great option. This is not my favorite restaurant – in fact I was fairly disappointed when I tried True Food Kitchen. But it is incredibly safe and has a number of health-conscious food options!

They offer:

  • Gluten-free menu items
  • Vegetarian options
  • Vegan options
  • Pizza made with gluten-free crusts

The menu makes it easy to identify gluten-free items, and there are lots of options if you’re avoiding gluten.

Many people also appreciate that the restaurant focuses on high-quality ingredients and often avoids certain seed oils, which is a bonus for some diners.

Venchi Chocolate & Gelato

https://images-eu-prod.cms.commerce.dynamics.com/cms/api/ggrwndfwxv/imageFileData/MDaUoP?f=webp&h=471&m=2&q=79&ver=65b2&w=935

If you’re looking for a sweet treat, Venchi Chocolate & Gelato is a must-stop.

Many gelato flavors are naturally gluten-free, though cones are not gluten-free. So when you order be sure to specify that you have an allergy and are sensitive to cross contamination. They will go above and beyond to ensure that they take precautions to keep you safe!

It’s a great dessert stop after exploring the mall or finishing the best gluten-free meal nearby at Bartaco!

Lovebird (5.7 Miles)

Lovebird is another great spot near King of Prussia, known for its fried chicken. I go here as often as I can when I’m in the area! Fortunately, Lovebird has 3 different locations near the NJ/PA border.

Everything in the store is gluten-free except for their buns! Their fried chicken? Gluten-free. Their mac and cheese? Gluten-free. Their fries? Gluten-free. There is such a small risk of cross-contamination because everything (but the buns) are gluten-free. But don’t worry! If you mention you have celiac disease they go above and beyond to ensure no cross-contamination happens.

They offer:

  • ALL fried chicken is made gluten-free.

Is Margarita Mix Gluten Free? Your for Gluten-Free Guide (2026)

Is Margarita Mix Gluten Free? Your for Gluten-Free Guide (2026)

If you’re living with celiac disease or following a gluten-free lifestyle, you already know that hidden gluten can show up in unexpected places. Cocktails are one of them. While tequila itself is naturally gluten-free, many people wonder: is margarita mix gluten-free?

The short answer: sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on the ingredients used in the mix.

I absolutely love a good margarita! In this guide, we’ll break down which of the leading brands of margarita mixes are safe, what ingredients to watch for, and how to make a guaranteed gluten-free margarita at home, whether you have gluten sensitivity or celiac disease.

Is Margarita Mix Gluten Free?

Most traditional margarita mixes found in stores contain ingredients such as:

  • Lime juice
  • Water
  • Sugar or simple syrup
  • Citrus flavorings

These ingredients are naturally gluten-free, which means many margarita mixes are safe. However, some mixes may contain additives, flavorings, artificial ingredients, artificial sweeteners, or stabilizers that could introduce gluten or be processed in facilities with gluten.

Because of this, not every margarita mix is automatically safe for people with celiac disease.

Personally, I try to avoid all processed drinks and foods or anything without natural ingredients. However, the good thing about store-bought margarita mixes is that they are required to list all of their ingredients and allergies in their product details and nutritional information. Continue reading to find what ingredients may contain gluten!

Ingredients That Could Contain Gluten

When checking a margarita mix label, watch for these potential red flags:

  • Malt or Malt Flavoring
  • “Natural Flavors”
  • Artificial Coloring or Additives
  • Cross-Contamination

Malt is derived from barley, which contains gluten. It occasionally appears in flavored cocktail mixers.
While most natural flavors are gluten-free, the term is vague. Rarely, stabilizers or flavor carriers may be derived from gluten-containing grains. Some mixers are produced in facilities that also process wheat-based ingredients.

If you’re highly sensitive to gluten or have celiac disease, look for mixes labeled gluten-free. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a brand yet that is “Certified Gluten-Free,” but all the brands I have listed below are labeled Gluten-Free.

I list out the top-rated gluten-free margarita mixes below! But always be sure to read the product information yourself when you buy it. It may be labeled as gluten-free in March of 2026 when I’m writing this, but that doesn’t mean a company won’t change its formula in the future. Always be sure to check the label that you are purchasing says “Gluten-Free” and check the website of the company before consuming.

Is Tequila Gluten Free?

Good news: Plain Tequila is naturally gluten-free.

Tequila is distilled from the blue agave plant, not grains. According to celiac experts, distilled spirits are considered gluten-free even if they originate from gluten grains because the distillation process removes gluten proteins

For margaritas, choose:

  • 100% agave tequila
  • Avoid flavored tequilas unless labeled gluten-free

My go-to tequila is Patron Silver! Their website even states that their tequila is 100% gluten-free.

Popular Margarita Mix Brands That Are Gluten Free

Many widely available margarita mixes do not contain gluten ingredients. Some commonly considered gluten-free options include:

However, ingredient formulations can change, so always check the label before purchasing. If the label says “Gluten-Free,” you can enjoy those delicious mixes worry-free.

My personal favorite gluten-free margarita mix is Stonewall Kitchen Margarita Mixer. It has a deliciously sweet taste but is not as high in sugar as other mixes. Its natural flavor makes it the perfect drink – whether you want to make a frozen margarita or even as a great mocktail option! You’ll enjoy this low-calorie margarita mix.

I always recommend looking for margarita mixes that have actual agave nectar rather than artificial sweeteners or sugar-free fruit syrups – they can leave you with a wicked hangover!

How to Make a Gluten-Free Margarita at Home

The safest margarita is one you make yourself. Homemade margaritas use simple ingredients and eliminate the risk of hidden gluten. Here’s a quick and easy recipe to make the perfect skinny margarita at home with a homemade, natural margarita mix!

Simple Gluten-Free Margarita Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila (100% agave) (my favorite liquor for margaritas is Casamigos or Patron Silver)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • ½ oz agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice
  • Salt for the rim
  • Fresh limes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass and dip in salt.
  2. Add tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave to a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Shake well for about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain into a glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a real lime wedge, and adding fresh lime juice in as well. (Avoid using lime juice concentrate for the best flavor!)

This recipe is naturally gluten-free, much fresher than bottled mix, and is the perfect blend of citrus and tart flavor.

Tips for Ordering a Gluten-Free Margarita at Restaurants

If you’re ordering a margarita while traveling or dining out, a few precautions can help keep you safe.

  • Ask if they use fresh lime juice or a bottled mix
  • Confirm the tequila brand
  • Avoid pre-made pitchers that may contain unknown mixers
  • Ask the bartender to make it from scratch if possible
  • Ask for no salt or sugar on the rim

Many restaurants now accommodate gluten-free guests, but it’s always best to ask. Authentic Mexican restaurants that use all-natural fruit and mixes are a cocktail favorite of mine; I don’t trust places like Applebees where they use super-processed mixes. If you have gluten sensitivity but not celiac, you don’t have to be as cautious. But if you have celiac disease there is always a risk when ordering a cocktail at a bar.

The Bottom Line

So, is margarita mix gluten-free?

  • Many margarita mixes are gluten-free, but not all.
  • Always check labels for malt, flavorings, or cross-contamination warnings.
  • Tequila itself is naturally gluten-free when made from 100% agave.
  • The safest option is making your margarita at home with fresh lime juice and simple ingredients.

For anyone living with celiac disease, a little label reading goes a long way. You’ll feel good knowing that you can still enjoy a perfect margarita and even custom margarita flavor with some preparation.

With the right mix—or a homemade recipe—you can confidently enjoy a refreshing margarita without worrying about gluten and enjoy a stellar taco Tuesday with the savory flavor of the classic marg!

Is Arepa Gluten Free? What You Need to Know

Is Arepa Gluten Free? What You Need to Know

If you follow a gluten-free diet, you’ve probably asked yourself: “Is an arepa gluten-free?” The answer depends on your situation! Are you gluten-free by choice or because of gluten sensitivity? Do you have celiac disease? You also have to consider how they’re made and where you’re eating them. Find out if arepa is gluten-free for you!

🫓 What Is an Arepa?

An arepa is a traditional food from Venezuela and Colombia, made from ground corn flour. It’s similar to a thick pancake or flatbread and can be split and stuffed with meats, cheeses, vegetables, or even eggs. Arepas are incredibly versatile—served at breakfast, lunch, or dinner—and loved for their crispy outside and soft, doughy inside. They are definitely a feel good food!

🌽 Are Arepas Gluten-Free?

The key ingredient in arepas is precooked cornmeal, also known as masarepa or harina precocida. Popular brands like P.A.N. clearly label their products as gluten-free, and authentic arepas don’t use wheat, rye, barley or other unwanted gluten.

So yes, arepas are naturally gluten-free! But depending on how they are made they may not be safe for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.  If you are baking your own or buying a brand that has a certified gluten-free label from the store, then you’re safe – even with celiac disease!

But if you’re ordering an arepa while at a restaurant, read below to find out if it is safe!

⚠️ When to Be Careful

Just like any food that’s naturally gluten-free, arepas can become unsafe depending on:

  • Where they’re made: Cross-contact in a shared kitchen is always a risk.
  • What they’re stuffed with: Some fillings may contain gluten (think breaded meats, soy sauce, or processed ingredients).
  • How they’re cooked: If arepas are fried on the same surface as gluten-containing items, they may not be safe.

Always ask questions at restaurants or food trucks and look for certified gluten-free labels when buying arepas pre-made or frozen. If you have celiac disease you can have a severe reaction to the tiniest bit of gluten. Eating out is always a risk because of cross-contmination. Please do thorough research and ask questions to be sure a restaurant understands the importance of being safe. Always mention that you are gluten-free because of celiac disease and health reasons.

✅ Tips for Safe Arepa Eating

  • Buy certified gluten-free cornmeal (like P.A.N. brand).
  • Make them at home—they’re easy and only require three ingredients: cornmeal, water, and salt.
  • Ask about cross-contact when ordering out.
  • Be careful with fillings—choose whole, simple ingredients to stay safe.

🧡 My Verdict: Arepas = Celiac-Safe (With Caution)

So, is arepa gluten-free? In most cases—yes! But just like any naturally gluten-free food, you need to be mindful of how it’s prepared and served. Arepas are one of the best comfort foods for those avoiding gluten, and with the right precautions, they can be a delicious and safe addition to your diet.

🫓 Easy Gluten-Free Arepa Recipe Card

These arepas are naturally gluten-free and perfect as a side dish, snack, or base for your favorite fillings. They’re a great substitute for gluten flatbreads like naan bread. With a few simple ingredients, you’ll have warm, comforting arepas in no time.

📝 Ingredients:

🔧 Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine cornmeal and sea salt. Stir with a wooden spoon to mix well.
  2. Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms. (Add extra water if needed)
  3. Let the dough rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide into equal pieces and shape into discs about ½-inch thick.
  5. Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat and cook arepas for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.
  6. Split and fill with your favorite toppings—like shredded chicken, avocado, or soft cheese.

A Wholesome Taste Worth Making

Arepas are one of the most satisfying and naturally gluten-free flatbreads you can enjoy, without worrying about traces of gluten or complicated additives like sodium acid pyrophosphate or wheat gluten. Unlike commercial gluten-free bread or pizza crust, this recipe skips the xanthan gum, potassium sorbate, and other shelf life enhancers in favor of a simple, wholesome taste. I recommend P.A.N. cornmeal because it’s certified gluten-free and gives the best results!
