If you have celiac disease, planning a trip to national parks can come with one very important question. “What National Parks have gluten-free food options nearby?”
National parks are incredible vacation destinations, but many are located hours away from major cities, and food options inside the parks can be limited. When you need more than just a restaurant with a gluten-free bun — and actually have to worry about cross-contamination — that can make planning a national park vacation a little intimidating.
The good news? Some of the United States’ most beautiful national parks are surprisingly close to towns with excellent gluten-free restaurants, dedicated gluten-free bakeries, grocery stores and other celiac-friendly options.
Here are some of the best national parks for every gluten-free traveler, especially if you’re willing to stay just outside the park and make the surrounding town part of your vacation.
My Top Tip for Planning a National Parks Vacation With Gluten-Free Food Options
My top tip for planning a National Parks trip with gluten-free food options is to book accommodations with a full kitchen whenever possible. Having your own kitchen gives you much more control over ingredients and cross-contact, especially in areas where gluten-free restaurants or grocery stores may be limited.
You can prepare safe breakfasts, pack lunches for long days in the park, and have an easy dinner waiting when dining options don’t work out. It takes so much stress out of figuring out where your next gluten-free meal will come from—and can save money, too!

10 Best National Parks For Gluten-Free Food Options
10. Joshua Tree National Park — California
Best nearby towns: Palm Springs (I don’t recommend staying in Joshua Tree itself)
Joshua Tree has one huge advantage for gluten-free travelers: Palm Springs isn’t far away.
You can stay closer to the park for part of your trip or base yourself in the Palm Springs area, where you’ll have access to a much larger restaurant scene and plenty of grocery stores.
In general, I’ve found Southern California to be one of the easier parts of the country for finding gluten-free. But I’m not super impressed by Palm Springs or especially Joshua Tree. I expected there to be way more gluten-free food nearby – that’s why this is low on the list!
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Palm Springs, Cali: Low Desert (Modern Mexican), Rooster and the Pig, Piero’s Pizza Vino, Palm Greens Cafe, Crudo Cervicheria, El Jefe Desert Cantina, Giuseppe’s Pizzeria, Farm
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You get the national park experience without being completely isolated from a major tourist destination.
9. Olympic National Park — Washington
Best nearby town: Port Angeles
Olympic National Park is a little different because it is enormous and spread out. You aren’t necessarily going to have one gateway town that works for everything.
But Port Angeles makes a good home base for portions of the park and gives you access to supermarkets and restaurants before heading out for the day.
Washington is also generally a good destination for gluten-free travelers, particularly around its larger towns and cities.
For Olympic, I’d plan more carefully than I would for Acadia or Zion. Bring plenty of food with you when exploring remote areas and don’t assume you’ll stumble across a celiac-friendly restaurant when you’re hungry.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Port Angeles, WA: Fish & Crab Shack, New Day Eatery, Welly’s Real Fruit Ice Cream, Sabai Thai, Yodelin Broth Company, Pink Pony Cafe, Next Door Gastropub, Gordy’s Pizza & Pasta, Spruce.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You can combine a wilderness-heavy vacation with strategic stays in larger towns.
8. Shenandoah National Park — Virginia
Best nearby areas: Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley
For those of us on the East Coast, Shenandoah is a particularly appealing option.
The park stretches along the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its famous Skyline Drive runs more than 100 miles through the park, making this an excellent road-trip destination.
Instead of relying exclusively on park dining, you can base yourself near one of the larger surrounding communities and pack your own food for your days inside Shenandoah.
This is one where I’d especially recommend getting a vacation rental with a kitchen. Stock up on gluten-free breakfast foods, fresh fruit, and sandwiches. Then spend the day exploring Skyline Drive, and then head somewhere below for dinner!
Why I like it for celiac travelers: It’s a relatively accessible national park for Northeast road trips and you can easily build your food plans around nearby towns.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Charlottesville: The Juice Landry, The Homestead Oven, Burtons Grill & Bar, Sedona Taphouse, Vision BBQ, Public Fish & Oyster, The Bebedero, and Iron Paffles & Coffee
7. Grand Teton National Park — Jackson, Wyoming
Best nearby town: Jackson
Grand Teton combines one of America’s most spectacular landscapes with something very important to me on vacation: a real restaurant town nearby.
Jackson has a major tourism industry and a much larger dining scene than you might expect to find near a national park in Wyoming.
It’s also possible to use Jackson as your base for exploring Grand Teton, which means you can research your restaurants ahead of time rather than depending entirely on whatever food happens to be available inside the park.
And if you’re combining Grand Teton with Yellowstone, Jackson is a great place to stock up on gluten-free groceries at a small grocery store before heading into more remote areas.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: Jackson gives you restaurants and grocery options while keeping you within easy reach of Grand Teton.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Jackson, WY: Liberty Burger, Jackson Drug, Local Co, Hand Fire Pizza, The Bistro, The Kitchen, and Bar T 5
6. Acadia National Park — Bar Harbor, Maine
Best nearby town: Bar Harbor
Acadia might be one of the easiest national park vacations to plan if you have celiac disease.
Unlike parks where you’re staying in the middle of nowhere, Bar Harbor sits right next to Acadia National Park and has a bustling restaurant scene. You can spend the day hiking, driving Park Loop Road or watching the waves crash at Thunder Hole and be back in town for dinner.
Maine is also generally a pretty easy state for gluten-free travelers thanks to all of the naturally gluten-free seafood. Think lobster, steamed mussels and other fresh seafood — although you’ll obviously still want to ask about preparation and cross-contamination.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You don’t have to choose between staying near the national park and staying near restaurants.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Bar Harbor: Geddy’s, Thrive Juice Bar & Kitchen, Side Street Cafe, Beal’s Lobster Pier, The Nor’Easter Pound & Market, McKays Public House, and Royal Indian.
5. Cuyahoga Valley National Park — Ohio
Best nearby cities: Akron and Cleveland
Cuyahoga Valley doesn’t have the dramatic remoteness of Yellowstone or Glacier — and from a gluten-free perspective, that’s actually an advantage.
The park sits between Cleveland and Akron, giving celiac travelers access to two metropolitan areas filled with restaurants and grocery stores.
If I were going, I would easily stay in Akron over Cleveland. Akron is only a 15-minute drive to Cuyahoga and is a small haven for gluten-free!
You could easily build a weekend trip around hiking in Cuyahoga Valley during the day and returning to the Cleveland area for a carefully researched gluten-free dinner.
Dedicated Gluten-Free Restaurants in Akron, OH: Jilly’s Music Room (despite it’s name it’s a full restaurant that is 100% gluten-free)
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Akron, OH: The Green Dragon Inn, Sweet Mary’s Bakery, Cilantro Thai & Sushi Restaurant, Aladdin’s Eatery, The Industry Kitchen & Bar, El Patron Tequileria & Cuisine, Guiseppe’s Pizza, Artisan Coffee, Vicious Biscuit.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You’re never particularly far from civilization.
4. Great Smoky Mountains National Park — Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Best nearby towns: Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge
If you’re concerned about not having enough great options nearby then the Smokies deserve a spot near the top of your list.
Gatlinburg sits immediately outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park, while Pigeon Forge is a short drive away and has an enormous tourism industry.
That means restaurants. Lots and lots of restaurants.
You’ll still need to research cross-contamination — especially because Southern food tends to involve plenty of breading and shared fryers — but the sheer number of establishments gives you much more flexibility than you’d have around many remote national parks.
It’s also a great choice for families because there’s so much to do outside the park.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: An enormous tourism infrastructure means you’re not dependent on one or two restaurants.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Gatlinburg: Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar, Calhoun’s, Over Easy Al’s, The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, Greenbrier Restaurant, and J.O.E. and Pop’s Sub Shoppe
3. Zion National Park — Springdale, Utah
Best nearby town: Springdale
Zion is probably one of the best examples of why choosing the right national park gateway town matters.
Springdale is literally outside the entrance to Zion National Park, so you can stay surrounded by restaurants rather than relying exclusively on food inside the park.
There are numerous restaurants in Springdale offering gluten-free options, and the town is so intertwined with Zion tourism that restaurants are accustomed to travelers with different dietary needs.
For someone with celiac disease, I’d still contact individual restaurants about cross-contamination before visiting, but having multiple possibilities within such a small area makes planning significantly easier.
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You can walk or take the shuttle around town, eat breakfast before entering Zion, and return to Springdale for dinner.
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Springdale, UT: Camp Outpost Co, Zion, Archie’s Food to Die For, Bit & Spur Restaurant & Saloon, Thai Sapa, Wild Thyme Cafe at Trees Ranch, Oscar’s Cafe, Sol Foods Supermarket, Hangry Goat, The Park House, Deep Creek Coffee Company,
2. Saguaro National Park — Tucson, Arizona
Best nearby city: Tucson
This one might be the sleeper pick on this list, but it’s honestly my top choice for gluten-free.
Saguaro National Park essentially surrounds portions of Tucson, meaning you can visit a national park while staying in a major city surrounded by gluten-free options. Plus Tucson is one of the best cities for gluten-free safe restaurants.
There is even a gluten-free bakery and a gluten-free restaurant with a dedicated gluten-free kitchen!
That is a HUGE advantage with celiac disease.
Instead of trying to survive on whatever is available at a remote lodge, you have supermarkets, restaurants, and other resources nearby. Tucson is also famous for its food scene, giving you plenty to research before your trip.
Dedicated Gluten-Free in Tuscon, AZ: Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery/Bistro, Dedicated, a gluten free bakery & coffee shop
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Tuscon, AZ: Mojo Cuban Kitchen and Rum Bar, Coop by cowpig, The Monica, El Charro, Tuk Tuk Thai- Thai Street Food, Nate’s Italian Kitchen, Tucson Tamale Company, Golden House, Tito and Pep, Boca Tacos Y Tequila
Why I like it for celiac travelers: It’s one of the rare national parks where you can pair outdoor adventure with the convenience of staying in a sizable city that has a gluten-free community.
1. Rocky Mountain National Park — Colorado
Best nearby town: Estes Park
Rocky Mountain National Park is another fantastic choice because Estes Park sits right outside the park entrance.
Colorado also has a particularly strong gluten-free culture. You’ll find restaurants accustomed to dietary restrictions, gluten-free bakeries, and plenty of grocery options for stocking your hotel or vacation rental.
But personally, if I was planning a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, I wouldn’t stay in nearby Estes Park -even though it’s definitely the more convenient choice.
Instead, I’d happily make the roughly hour-long drive from Boulder, Colorado.
Why?
Simply because the gluten-free food scene there is so much better.
Boulder has an impressive number of dedicated gluten-free restaurants, bakeries, and other spots where you can eat without having to navigate a shared kitchen, which can make traveling with celiac disease feel a whole lot easier.
That last part is important for travel in national parks. Even when I’m visiting somewhere with great restaurants, I always want access to a grocery store so I can pack snacks and food items for long hiking days.
For me, having that many safe food options waiting at the end of a long day of hiking would absolutely be worth the extra drive. Plus, staying in Boulder gives you the chance to turn your Rocky Mountain National Park trip into a bit of a gluten-free food adventure, too!
Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Estes Park, CO: The Post Mountain House, The Wapiti Colorado Pub, Rocky Mountain Crepe Company, The Egg of Estes, Raven’s Roast Coffee Lounge, Ed’s Cantina & Grill, Bob & Tony’s Pizza, Estes Thai Restaurant, Bird & Jim, Hunters Chop House, Claire’s Restaurant and Bar, Purple Mountain Taffy Company
Dedicated Gluten-Free Restaurants in Boulder, CO (one hour from Rocky Mountain): Quiero Arepas, Cozobi Fonda Fina, Just Be Kitchen, Sweet Sisters Bake Shop, Havenly Baked Goods
Dedicated Gluten-Free Restaurants in Fort Collins, CO (one hour from Rocky Mountain) Scrumpy’s Hard Cider Bar and Pub and Edison’s Ice Cream
Why I like it for celiac travelers: You’re getting a spectacular national park without having to stay hours away from big cities.
What About Yellowstone, Yosemite and Glacier?
You’ll notice that some of America’s most famous national parks aren’t at the top of my list.
That doesn’t mean you can’t visit them with celiac disease!
But there’s a big difference between “this national park has some gluten-free food” and “this National Park is an easy destination for a person with celiac disease.”
Yellowstone, Yosemite and Glacier all have dining options, but their size and remoteness mean I’d put considerably more effort into food planning.
For these trips, I’d strongly consider:
Staying somewhere with a refrigerator or kitchen.
Bringing substantial gluten-free snacks.
Packing lunches for hiking days.
Calling restaurants ahead about cross-contamination.
Identifying grocery stores before arriving.
Never assuming the next park restaurant will have something safe.
There’s nothing worse than finishing a ten-mile hike and realizing the only thing you feel comfortable eating is the emergency protein bar that’s been crushed at the bottom of your backpack for three days.
My Top National Parks for Gluten-Free Food Options
Exploring national parks while following a strict gluten-free diet can take a little planning, especially when you’re navigating food allergies or worried about cross-contact. The great thing is that more nearby communities are offering dedicated gluten-free restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or hoping to find the best gluten-free meal of your trip, researching menu items ahead of time can make a huge difference. After all, enjoying delicious food along the way is one of the best parts of any national park adventure!

If you’re looking for the best gluten free in Red Bank, you’re in luck. This charming downtown in New Jersey has plenty to offer anyone with celiac disease, food allergies, or simply a preference for eating gluten-free. From an Italian restaurant serving comforting favorites to spots with creative GF options, there’s something for just about every craving. But when you have celiac disease, finding delicious food is only half the battle. You also need to think about cross contamination, preparation methods, and whether restaurants use separate prep areas or different utensils. In this guide, I’m sharing some of my favorite menu items and places to eat so you can spend less time researching and more time enjoying Red Bank.
Dedicated Gluten-Free Red Bank, NJ
If you have celiac disease, these are the places I’d start. Dedicated gluten-free establishments remove a major source of stress because gluten isn’t being prepared alongside your meal. Red Bank has several very different options, whether you’re looking for health foods, breakfast, lunch, or dessert.
1. Kitch Organic
Kitch Organic is one of the best finds for gluten-free dining in Red Bank. The restaurant states that all of its food is organic and free from gluten, wheat, and dairy. Everything here is made from scratch. As someone with multiple health issues I love a local place that understands the power of real food! It’s a particularly good choice if you want organic food that feels fresh and wholesome without being boring.
The menu includes breakfast and lunch options ranging from baked goods and cold-pressed juices to bowls, tacos, burgers, and other hearty choices. I loved their tacos! They were full of flavor and didn’t leave me feeling bloated.
You’ll find Kitch Organic at 75 Leighton Avenue. It’s a relatively small team and a casual spot, so I’d choose it for breakfast or lunch.
2. Melonhead Cafe
For something lighter, Melonhead Cafe is a convenient stop near the Red Bank train station. It’s centered around açaí bowls, smoothies, juices, coffee, and other health-focused choices, making it a nice contrast to some of the heavier meals on this list. Melonhead
This is the kind of place I’d keep in mind for breakfast, a snack, or a quick meal while exploring downtown Red Bank. You can customize bowls and smoothies, which is especially helpful when you’re traveling with people who all want something different.
3. Fable Creamery Vegan Ice Cream & Confections
Dessert deserves its own stop, and Fable Creamery Vegan Ice Cream & Confections is a particularly exciting one for gluten-free diners. Fable specializes in plant-based, gluten-free ice cream and confections, so it’s essentially the dessert version of finding a dedicated gluten-free shop. Fable Creamery Vegan Ice Cream & Confections
Beyond its creamy coconut-milk-based ice cream, you’ll find cookies, brownies, chocolates, confections, and other sweets. If your idea of a happy life includes walking into a shop and having an AMAZING selection of gluten-free cookies and desserts to choose from, definitely save room for this one.
It’s also a great option when your group includes both gluten-free and dairy-free diners. Fable’s desserts are vegan as well as gluten-free, making it an easy dessert stop after dinner downtown.
Gluten-Free Friendly Restaurants in Red Bank
The restaurants below aren’t in the same category as the dedicated establishments above. If you have celiac disease, don’t assume that a gluten-free label automatically means something is safe from cross-contact. Ask about current ingredients, preparation areas, fryers, utensils, and cooking procedures when you visit.
5. Spice Thai Bistro
Spice Thai Bistro is a family-owned Thai restaurant on Monmouth Street with several dishes identified as gluten-free on its menu, including choices such as Pad Thai, grilled chicken, grilled salmon, salads, stir-fries, and other dishes.
It’s a casual, relatively small restaurant that’s especially convenient when you want to order online for pickup instead of sitting down for a long meal. Curries, noodles, stir-fries, and Thai favorites give you plenty to explore, but celiac diners should still discuss preparation and cross-contact directly with the restaurant.
Spice Thai Bistro
4. Local Smoke BBQ
If barbecue is calling your name, Local Smoke BBQ is another gluten-free-friendly option to investigate. The current online menu labels a number of choices GF or GF*, including items such as collard greens, sweet chili Brussels sprouts, smoked bacon poppers, shoestring fries, and Smoke-A-Fried Wings. Because some items carry an asterisk, I’d specifically ask what that designation means and how those foods are prepared before ordering if you have celiac disease.
Local Smoke is located at 244 West Front Street and offers dine-in, takeout, and online ordering. It’s also geared toward group and catering orders, so it may be worth investigating for private parties or family gatherings where you need to accommodate different dietary needs.
Local Smoke BBQ
3. Teak
Teak gives you another option when you’re looking for a sit-down meal in downtown Red Bank. The Asian-inspired menu makes this a different dining experience from the dedicated cafés and dessert spots above.
Because Teak is included in the gluten-free-friendly rather than dedicated section of this guide, I’d let your server know about your dietary requirements before ordering and ask which dishes can currently be prepared gluten-free. This is especially important for sauces, fried foods, and anything prepared in shared cooking areas.
2. Bombay River, Indian Restaurant
Located at 90 Broad St, Bombay River serves modern Indian cuisine that combines traditional flavors with a more contemporary approach. The restaurant describes its dishes as being made with the finest ingredients, and the menu marks certain dishes as “GS,” or gluten sensitive.
There’s an important distinction here for anyone with celiac disease: Bombay River specifically states that its facility uses wheat and has shared cooking and preparation areas, and it cannot guarantee that menu items are completely free from allergens. That’s information I’d want to know before arriving, and it’s exactly why I’ve placed it in the gluten-free-friendly section rather than with Red Bank’s dedicated establishments.
1. Beijing Bistro
Beijing Bistro is another Broad St restaurant worth knowing about because it has a dedicated section of its website specifically for dining restrictions. Its gluten-free menu includes a surprisingly broad range of choices, with appetizers, soups, chicken dishes, vegetables, rice, and noodle options listed.
That makes Beijing Bistro particularly interesting for gluten-free diners who miss having choices at a Chinese restaurant. However, a gluten-free menu isn’t the same thing as a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. If you have celiac disease, I’d still tell your server that you need your meal prepared for a medical gluten restriction and ask about the restaurant’s current cross-contact procedures.
You’ll find Beijing Bistro at 91 Broad Street in Red Bank.
Finding the Best Gluten-Free Food in Red Bank
Whether you’re planning a casual lunch, family dinners, or a meal for a special occasion, Red Bank has some fantastic choices for gluten-free diners. You’ll find everything from Italian cuisine and fresh pasta to restaurants offering free buns, free pizza, and other free items that make dining out feel a little more normal again.
As always, preparation matters just as much as what’s listed on the menu. A dedicated gluten-free menu is a great starting point, but if you have celiac disease, ask questions about shared equipment and whether the restaurant uses a separate kitchen or cooking space. Procedures can change, so it’s worth confirming directly with the restaurant before you order.
Hopefully, this guide makes your next dining experience in Red Bank a little easier—and a lot more delicious.
Finding a great gluten-free, non-alcoholic beer is hard enough. Finding one that’s also safe for celiac disease can feel nearly impossible. That’s why I wanted to share the best Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beer out there!
The good news is that more breweries are creating delicious gluten-free beverages than ever before. Whether you’re participating in Dry January, cutting back on alcohol, or simply looking for more non-alcoholic drinks, you don’t have to give up the taste of a great beer.
Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers Versus Gluten-Reduced
If you have celiac disease, though, it’s important to know the difference between a truly gluten free beer and a gluten-reduced NA beer. Many alcohol-free beers begin with gluten-containing grains like barley. Even after the alcohol is removed, the final product still contains gluten. That means these beers are not safe for people with celiac disease.
Athletic Brewing and Big Drop Brewing are both gluten-reduced and not celiac safe. While Go Brewing is 100% gluten-free
Instead, look for beers brewed entirely with gluten-free grains. This helps eliminate the risk of cross-contamination and avoids the immune response that gluten can trigger.
In this post, I recommend two breweries that are 100% celiac-safe. However, the beers at the end of the post are all gluten-reduced. Meaning they are NOT safe for people with celiac disease.
Here are my two favorite gluten-free non-alcoholic beers.
100% Gluten-Free, Non-Alcoholic Beers
These first two beers are celiac-safe because they are made completely without gluten-containing ingredients. While the beers listed below them are made to reduce gluten and are therefore not celiac-safe.
Go Brewing is one of the few breweries offering multiple non-alcoholic beers made specifically without traditional gluten-containing grains. Their Freedom Series includes three beers: Freedom California Pale, Freedom Amber, and Freedom Hazy IPA. Each brew contains less than 0.5% ABV and is made with millet, buckwheat, and certified gluten-free oats instead of barley or wheat. The beers are independently tested, and Go Brewing publishes batch-specific lab results, giving customers added confidence in what they’re drinking.
The Freedom California Pale delivers bright citrus and tropical hop flavors, while Freedom Amber offers a smooth, malt-forward profile that’s perfect for those who miss traditional amber ales. If you’re an IPA fan, the Freedom Hazy IPA has juicy tropical notes and a soft, hazy finish that rivals many alcoholic craft beers. Although Go Brewing labels these beers as “crafted without gluten” rather than “gluten-free,” they are brewed without barley or wheat using gluten-free ingredients and undergo testing before release.
Departed Soles Brewing Co. has been one of my favorite gluten-free breweries for years, and I can’t recommend them enough. Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, they’ve built an incredible reputation for producing high-quality craft beer while taking gluten-free brewing seriously.
Unlike many breweries that simply offer one gluten-free option, Departed Soles has a dedicated gluten-free brewing program and is phenomenal about making people with celiac disease feel safe and included. I’ve enjoyed just about every gluten-free beer they’ve released, from hoppy IPAs to rich seasonal brews, and they’ve consistently proven that you don’t need barley to make exceptional craft beer.
Now I’m especially excited because they’ve released Nunya, their first gluten-free non-alcoholic beer. As someone who has loved their alcoholic beers for years, I couldn’t be happier to see them expanding into the non-alcoholic market. It’s refreshing to see a brewery that already understands the needs of the celiac community continue to innovate with safe, gluten-free options.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a can of Nunya, and if it’s anything like the rest of Departed Soles’ lineup, I have a feeling it’s going to become another favorite.
The following beers are GLUTEN-REMOVED, meaning they are not safe for those with celiac disease. They are good options though for people who can tolerate some gluten because they are gluten-free by choice.
If you’re looking for a traditional beer experience without the alcohol, Athletic Brewing’s Upside Dawn is one of the best options available.
This golden-style brew has a clean, crisp flavor that closely resembles the real thing. It’s light, refreshing, and pairs well with everything from burgers to pizza. If you’re new to non-alcoholic pale brew styles, this is a fantastic place to start.
One important note: Athletic Brewing is famous for its alcohol-free beers, but not every beer they make is gluten-free. Always read the label carefully and verify the gluten content of this product before purchasing. People with celiac disease should never assume a brewery’s entire lineup is safe.
If you can find a certified gluten-free version in your area, it’s one of the best non-alcoholic brews I’ve tasted.
Big Drop Brewing Co. has become a big name in the world of craft NA-beers. Located in the U.k they offer a growing variety of gluten-reduced options that don’t sacrifice flavor.
One standout is Big Drop Reef Point, a refreshing pale ale with balanced citrus notes. If you enjoy trying different styles, Big Drop also produces darker beers, IPAs, and seasonal releases.
Their goal has always been creating the exceptional taste of traditional craft beer without alcohol. According to their website, their beers test at 10 ppm of gluten. Unfortunately, because I have celiac disease, I would not trust even that little amount.
They continue expanding their alcohol-free beer selection. Availability can vary because of limited supply.
If you’re looking for a flavorful non-alcoholic lager, Grüvi’s Non-Alcoholic Golden Lager has earned a loyal following for its crisp, light taste and classic beer flavor. Brewed with barley, hops, yeast, and water, it’s designed to mimic a traditional American lager while containing less than 0.5% ABV. Grüvi also states that this beer is gluten-reduced, testing at less than 10 ppm of gluten per serving, which appeals to some people avoiding gluten for lifestyle reasons.
However, if you have celiac disease, this beer is not considered safe. Although the gluten content is reduced, it is still brewed with barley, a gluten-containing grain. Grüvi clearly states on its website that the beer is not gluten-free—only gluten-reduced.
For people with celiac disease, experts generally recommend choosing beers that are brewed from naturally gluten-free grains, rather than beers made from barley and treated to reduce gluten. If you’re looking for a truly celiac-safe option, stick with beers from dedicated gluten-free breweries like Holidaily, Ghostfish, or Departed Soles’ gluten-free lineup and for non-alcoholic beers choose the two listed above.
Bravus Brewing has become one of the most recognizable names in the non-alcoholic beer world, offering everything from IPAs and amber ales to peanut butter stouts. Their Non-Alcoholic IPA is especially popular thanks to its hoppy aroma, citrus notes, and craft beer flavor that’s remarkably close to a traditional IPA. Bravus uses a proprietary brewing process and states that all of its beers are brewed to reduce gluten, testing at less than 20 ppm. They also note that their beers are vegan, contain less than 0.5% ABV, and are made with malted barley.
However, Bravus beers are not celiac safe. Because they are brewed with barley, a gluten-containing grain, the beers are considered gluten-reduced, not gluten-free. Although the brewery states their beers test below 20 ppm, current recommendations from celiac experts are that gluten-reduced beers should be avoided by people with celiac disease. Testing methods for fermented beverages have limitations, and the gluten content cannot be reliably verified.
If you have celiac disease, it’s safest to choose non-alcoholic beers brewed entirely from naturally gluten-free grains instead of barley-based, gluten-reduced
Are Gluten-Free Non-Alcoholic Beers Safe?
Not all alcohol-free beers are 100% gluten-free.
Many breweries use traditional methods and brew with barley before removing the alcohol. While some companies test for a low ppm of gluten, these beers still begin with gluten-containing ingredients.
Some may contain trace amounts of gluten after the brewing process. That’s why they’re generally not recommended for people with celiac disease.
The safest choice is always a beer brewed entirely with gluten-free grains from start to finish. Which is why my top two recommendations are Go Brewing’s Freedom Series and Departed Soles’ Nunya.
Final Thoughts
Thankfully, the market for gluten-free non-alcoholic beer continues to grow. As more breweries recognize the demand for gluten-free diets and changing dietary preferences, we’re seeing an exciting range of gluten-free beverages become available.
Whether you’re looking for a light summer drink, reducing your alcohol intake, or simply trying something new, these beers prove you don’t have to settle for less.
Have a favorite gluten-free NA beer that I should try? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to discover more great options for the gluten-free community.

Little Radish
100% Gluten Free Little RadishLittle Radish Gluten Free Wrap
If you are severely sensitive to gluten and cross-contamination, then the Little Radish is the safest spot for you! It is perfect for a celiac-safe lunch. It is 100% gluten-free so there is 0 risk of cross contamination.
The Little Radish is a stall located inside the New Hope Ferry Market (which is across the street from the Logan Inn!) The Little Radish serves healthy wraps and bowls that are perfect if you need a quick bite while you’re exploring New Hope. We stopped in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon while New Hope was packed. I did not wait long to order or get my wrap, but it was hard to find anywhere to sit!
Overall, my wrap was good, but a bit bland – there was not much dressing on it. However, it was safe and a light option for my celiac safe lunch.
Scaiscia Confections is located in the same New Hope Ferry Market that Little Radish is in. I discovered it while I was browsing all the different friendly vendors while waiting for my lunch and by far the girls here were the friendliest! I had no idea when I first stopped here that not only was it safe, but it was entirely gluten-free! Sciascia Confections serves different types of chocolates and truffles, which is perfect if you have a sweet tooth! They were not overly expensive, and they even had some vegan option. It was my first time trying it, and it was enjoyable!
Gluten-Free Friendly Restaurants in New Hope, PA
Caleb’s American Kitchen
If you’re heading to New Hope, Caleb’s American Kitchen is a great stop just minutes away—and a solid option for gluten-free diners. This New American spot offers a seasonal, locally sourced menu with a surprising number of naturally gluten-free dishes, from hearty bowls and salads to protein-forward brunch options. Many items are clearly marked GF, and even comfort foods like burgers can be made gluten-free with a substitute roll, making it easy to enjoy a full meal without feeling limited.
While it’s not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, Caleb’s is known for being accommodating—just be sure to communicate your needs clearly, especially if you have celiac. With its cozy atmosphere and thoughtful menu, it’s a reliable choice when you want something a little more elevated than casual dining while still staying gluten-free.
V Spot Food Vegan Restaurant
If you’re looking for a fully plant-based spot in New Hope that still works well for gluten-free dining, V-Spot Food Vegan Restaurant is a great option to have on your list. This vibrant, BYOB vegan restaurant focuses on creative, globally inspired comfort food made with fresh, often locally sourced ingredients, and it’s known for being allergy-friendly with plenty of adaptable dishes.
While it’s not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, V-Spot offers a variety of clearly labeled or naturally gluten-free dishes—like risottos, stuffed peppers, and gluten-free pasta options—and many menu items can be modified to fit your needs. It’s a particularly good choice if you’re dining with a mix of dietary preferences, since the menu is wide-ranging and approachable, with vegan versions of classic comfort foods that still feel indulgent. Just be sure to mention celiac when ordering so the kitchen can take extra precautions. There aren’t many totally vegan restaurants in the area, so if you’re vegan this is the perfect spot for you!
Stella
If you’re looking for a more elevated gluten-free dining experience in New Hope, Stella is a beautiful option right on the river. Known for its seasonal, locally inspired New American menu, Stella naturally offers a number of gluten-free-friendly dishes—especially seafood, salads, and thoughtfully prepared entrées that highlight fresh ingredients.
While the menu isn’t fully gluten-free, the kitchen is accustomed to accommodating dietary needs, making it a great choice for a date night or special occasion. As always, be sure to communicate celiac clearly, but this is one of those places where gluten-free dining still feels indulgent and elevated rather than restrictive.
Wild Ginger 3
I have been DYING to try one of the Wild Ginger locations in Pennsylvania. They are known for being very accommodating to gluten-free diners and have very tasty Thai and Chinese dishes. I’ve tried on 4 different occasions to try them but it just hasn’t worked out for me yet!
Wild Ginger 3 is a go-to in New Hope if you’re craving Asian cuisine with gluten-free options. The menu features a wide range of Thai, Japanese, and Chinese dishes, many of which can be adapted to be gluten-free—like rice-based noodle dishes, sushi, and stir-fries.
It’s not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, so cross-contamination is something to be mindful of, but they are generally accommodating when you specify celiac. This is a great casual option when you want flavorful, takeout-style comfort food with gluten-free flexibility.
Earl’s New American
Located in nearby Peddler’s Village, Earl’s New American is a cozy, upscale-casual spot that works well for gluten-free dining. The menu focuses on seasonal, farm-to-table dishes, which naturally lends itself to gluten-free options like proteins, vegetables, and creative salads.
While many dishes may need slight modification, the kitchen is used to accommodating dietary restrictions, making it a reliable choice for a relaxed but refined meal. It’s especially great if you’re pairing dinner with a day of shopping in the village.
Lima Fusion
Lima Fusion is a hidden gem for gluten-free dining in New Hope, especially if you love bold flavors. This Peruvian and Latin fusion spot offers a surprisingly large number of naturally gluten-free dishes—from ceviche and grilled meats to corn-based empanadas and arepas.
With clearly gluten-free options like tacos on corn tortillas, rice-based dishes, and plantain-based sides, it’s one of the easier places to navigate with celiac. The menu is also very accommodating for dairy-free and vegan diets, making it a great choice for groups with mixed dietary needs.
El Tule (Lambertville)
Out of all of these restaurants El Tule is my top recommendation. It is across the bridge in Lambertville so you’re looking at least a 15-20 minute walk away. However, between the great gluten-free options and the memorable experience, to me it’s so worth it!
El Tule is a Mexican and Peruvian restaurant that is perfect during the warm weather months with their outdoor seating. They do not have much seating inside so during the winter its great for take out. They have great food and also good cross contact protocols.
It’s BYO and absolutely perfect for a fun date night or a dinner out with friends!
New Hope, PA may be a small town, but it is such a welcoming spot and truly delivers when it comes to gluten-free dining. From quick, easy lunches to elevated date-night restaurants to casual cafés and globally inspired menus, there are plenty of places where you can eat well without feeling limited.
As always, if you have celiac disease, be sure to communicate your needs clearly and ask about preparation practices—but overall, New Hope is a welcoming and surprisingly accommodating destination for gluten-free travelers.

A trip to the Jersey Shore should be about salty air, boardwalk strolls, and beach days—not worrying about where you’ll safely eat. Fortunately, several NJ shore towns have embraced gluten-free dining, making it easier than ever for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity to enjoy a weekend by the ocean. From dedicated gluten-free kitchens to restaurants that take cross-contact seriously, these shore destinations offer plenty of delicious options. Whether you’re planning a day trip or a full summer vacation, these are the best gluten-free friendly NJ shore towns to add to your list.
5. Ventnor City
Ventnor City is my personal favorite Jersey Shore town—we go a few times a year! But please don’t all steal my favorite beach spot! Ventnor has a quieter, more laid-back vibe that’s perfect if you’re looking to escape the crowds. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a relaxing day on the beach and enjoy some fantastic local restaurants without the hustle and bustle of some of the larger shore towns.
Start your morning with breakfast at one of my absolute favorites – Hannah G’s. Hannah G’s regularly offers lots of gluten-free options including gluten-free waffles, gluten-free pancakes, and fresh, homemade gluten-free bread! I usually get the huevos rancheros bowl along with their current gluten-free bread selection. My favorite was the chocolate chip banana bread with strawberry butter!
After Hannah G’s, I usually take a long bike ride, then end up at The Healthy Hippo. Their acai and smoothie shop is ALMOST dedicated gluten-free. The only thing they serve with gluten is their toast, which is made in the back separate from all of their bowls and smoothies!
When lunchtime rolls around, Rainbow Sushi is one of my favorite stops. They offer plenty of naturally gluten-free sushi choices. With a little communication about avoiding cross-contact and using gluten-free soy sauce, it’s an easy and satisfying meal. For dinner, you can also try Vagabond Kitchen, which was visited by Guy Fieri! They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer so you can enjoy their wings and French fries.
You can also check out my favorite spots for dinner right next door in Atlantic City. Click here to read my guide!
Nearby in Margate
But my favorite spot for dinner is a short drive next door to Margate, where some of the area’s best gluten-free dining awaits. Wokworks is a great choice if you’re craving Asian-inspired dishes. You can also visit Betty’s Seafood Shack and Betty’s BBQ & Chicken, which offer flavorful meals with gluten-free options.
And if you ask me for just one must-visit spot, it’s Margate Dairy Bar. It’s my absolute favorite place to end a beach day! You can enjoy many of their fried options in their dedicated gluten-free fryer! As well as their incredible hamburgers on a gluten-free bun. Don’t forget to end your day with a gluten-free frozen treat – like their Vanilla/Orange Soft Serve on a GF Cone!
In my opinion, it’s the best place on the Jersey Shore for families. That’s because they go above and beyond to prevent cross contamination for all types of allergies. Between the peaceful beaches and the abundance of nearby gluten-free restaurants, Ventnor is one Jersey Shore destination I find myself returning to again and again. In fact, we’ve even started looking at real estate there!
4. Ocean City
Ocean City is one of New Jersey’s most family-friendly beach towns, and it’s also becoming an excellent destination for gluten-free travelers. From the iconic boardwalk to downtown Asbury Avenue, you’ll find several restaurants and bakeries that make it much easier to enjoy a beach vacation without constantly worrying about your next meal. Whether you’re visiting for the day or staying for a week, Ocean City offers enough variety to keep your gluten-free dining interesting.
The true gem for anyone with celiac disease is Kizbee’s Kitchen, a dedicated gluten-free bakery where everything is made without gluten – they even have vegan options. It’s the perfect place to stock up on fresh baked goods, grab breakfast before heading to the beach, or pick up treats for later in the day. If you’re craving classic boardwalk food, Curly’s Fries offers their famous fries cooked in a dedicated fryer, making them a must-have while strolling the boardwalk. For breakfast or brunch, both Asbury Kitchen and Hooked on Breakfast are local favorites with gluten-free options that have earned positive reviews from gluten-free diners.

And if you’re willing to take a short drive just a few miles off the island to Somers Point, you’ll be rewarded with two more fantastic stops. The Grilled Cheese & Crab Cake Company is well known for its gluten-free menu and knowledgeable staff,
One of the best things about Ocean City is that many of its gluten-free options are within walking distance of the beach, boardwalk, and downtown shopping district. Between a dedicated gluten-free bakery, safe boardwalk fries, breakfast spots, pizza, and nearby restaurants worth the short drive, Ocean City makes it easy to enjoy everything the Jersey Shore has to offer without feeling limited by a gluten-free diet. Just remember to let your server know if you have celiac disease so they can take the appropriate precautions to help prevent cross-contact.
3. Cape May
Cape May is one of New Jersey’s most charming shore towns, known for its Victorian architecture, beautiful beaches, and incredible dining scene. It’s also one of the best destinations at the Jersey Shore for gluten-free travelers. Whether you’re spending a romantic weekend away or planning a family beach vacation, you’ll find a surprising number of restaurants that offer gluten-free menu options and are familiar with accommodating guests with celiac disease.
One of the most popular gluten-free spots in Cape May is Lucky Bones Backwater Grille, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner with several gluten-free choices on the menu. For hotdog lovers, Hot Dog Tommy’s is a Cape May institution that offers a selection of gluten-free hotdogs, and the staff is generally knowledgeable about food allergies. If you’re in the mood for pizza or Italian food, Iccara Italian Bistro is another local favorite with gluten-free options and consistently positive reviews from the gluten-free community. You can also find amazing Mexican food at Taco Caballito Tequileria.
If you’re looking for an upscale dinner, Vintage BYOB, Maison Bleue Bistro, and the famous Washington Inn has all earned praise from gluten-free diners for its accommodating service and willingness to modify menu items when possible.
No trip to Cape May is complete without treating yourself to something sweet. Fine Fellows Creamery is a favorite stop for many gluten-free visitors, offering gluten-free ice cream and desserts that are perfect after a day at the beach. As with any restaurant, it’s always a good idea to let your server know if you have celiac disease so the kitchen can take the extra precautions needed to minimize cross-contact.
2. Long Beach Island (LBI)
Long Beach Island is one of New Jersey’s most popular summer destinations, and while gluten-free options are a little more spread out than in Asbury Park, they’re well worth seeking out. From casual breakfasts before the beach to seafood dinners overlooking the bay, LBI has a growing number of restaurants that receive consistently positive reviews from the gluten-free community. With a little planning, it’s easy to spend an entire vacation on the island without feeling like you’re settling for limited choices.
One of the standout favorites is Chicken or the Egg (Chegg) in Beach Haven, a longtime LBI institution that’s frequently recommended by gluten-free diners for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you’re looking to start your morning right, Wally’s is another local favorite with gluten-free options that consistently earns high marks on Find Me Gluten Free. If you’re looking for a quick breakfast you can also try Surfside Coffee House.
For lunch, The Jersey Girl, Kitchen and Market is a great stop for wraps, sandwiches, and fries in a separate gluten-free fryer! You could also try Holiday Snack Bar in Beach Haven for a quick bite after the beach.
When it’s time for dinner, you’ll find plenty of restaurants willing to accommodate gluten-free guests. Panzone’s Pizzeria and Restaurant is one of the top recommended dinner places with gluten-free pizza, pasta, gnocchi and wraps! If you’re in a mood for sushi, Zen Sushi Asian Cuisine is known for fresh sushi. Other restaurants with gluten-free options include Raimondo’s and The Gables.
Of course no trip to the Jersey Shore is complete without the after-dinner ice-cream shop. You can’t go wrong with a stop at Skipper Dipper!
As always, if you have celiac disease, let your server know about the need to avoid cross-contact so the kitchen can take the appropriate precautions.
1. Asbury Park
If I had to recommend just one Jersey Shore town for gluten-free dining, Asbury Park would be at the top of my list. Between its vibrant downtown, iconic boardwalk, live music scene, and growing food culture, Asbury Park offers one of the best combinations of fun and safe dining anywhere on the New Jersey coast. You can easily spend an entire weekend here without running out of gluten-free options, making it an excellent destination for anyone with celiac disease.
One of my favorite stops is Talula’s, where the staff understands gluten-free dining and offers delicious pizzas with gluten-free crusts. If pizza is on your vacation wish list, Crust & Crumble is another excellent choice. They make one of the few homemade gluten-free pizza crusts in Monmouth County and prepare gluten-free pizzas separately using dedicated trays and utensils, helping reduce the risk of cross-contact. Just be sure to arrive early—they’re known to sell out of gluten-free crust on busy weekends!
When you’re ready for dinner—or just a sweet treat after the beach—Asbury Park has even more to offer. Iron Whale provides a beautiful oceanfront setting with staff who take food allergies seriously, while Barrio Costero serves flavorful tapas and tacos with a menu that’s especially accommodating for gluten-free diners.
The Best Ice Cream in Asbury Park
Before heading home, don’t miss Cookman Creamery, my personal favorite ice cream shop in Monmouth County. They clearly label gluten-free flavors, offer gluten-free cones, and will even scoop from a fresh container to avoid cross-contact if you let them know you have celiac disease. They’re also vegan friendly and have a wide selection of dairy-free ice creams to choose from.
If you’re staying nearby in Bradley Beach, Hatch 44 Cafe is also worth the short drive for a gluten-friendly breakfast. You can also visit my personal favorite Bamboo Thai, which is the best Thai restaurant in Monmouth County!.
