One of the countries I travel back to often is the place of my heritage – Ireland! Ireland is an incredible country to visit. It’s the number one country I recommend for solo female travelers going on their first solo trip. Ireland’s culture is magical, the cities are vibrant, and music is everywhere! Get ready for my 7-Day Ireland Itinerary.
7-Day Ireland Travel Itinerary
Below I give you a self-guided 7 day tour of the major spots in Ireland. However, if I was going to go back to Ireland for 7 days I would 100% do one of the 3 day Rabbie Tours listed here.
We did a Rabbie’s Tour in Scotland and absolutely loved it! It made the experience of getting around Ireland an absolute breeze, we learned so much from our knowledgable tour guide, and we had a blast!
My top choice is the Dingle, Killarney, & Wild Atlantic Way tour!
Day 1: Land in Dublin
- Visit Temple Bar
- Visit the Heypenny Bridge
- Irish Music Pub Tour (Evening)
If you like food that’s similar to Indian food and want a unique experience have dinner at Montys of Kathmandu!
(Ireland Travel Tip: Irish food is not good! But their ethnic cuisines are fantastic)
Day 2: Dublin
- Walking Tour of Dublin (2 hours)
- General Post Office Museum (roughly an hour)
- Kilmainham Gaol Museum (2-3 hours) these tickets sell out FAST. You need to book exactly 28 days before you plan to visit
- Guinness Factory
- Jameson Factory
I HIGHLY recommend having dinner at Millstone Restaurant! Make sure to make a reservation in advance
Day 3: Blarney Stone Tour From Dublin

Kiss the Blarney Stone on this 12 hour tour from Dublin
Day 4: Dublin to Galway
Take the bus from Dublin City Centre to Galway and be prepared to see some incredible views along the way! I recommend catching an early bus so you’ll have all afternoon and evening to explore Galway!
Day 5: Cliffs of Moher Tour from Galway

Day 6: If you’re Catholic make a trip to Knock from Galway

Knock is truly heavenly. Every time I’m in Galway I make sure to take the 1.5 hour bus ride from Galway to Knock to visit Ireland’s National Marian Shrine.
Our Lady of Knock Shrine is similar to Marian Shrines like Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, Our Lady of Lourdes in France, and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.
In the 1900s Mary appeared to over 20 witnesses at the church in Knock providing great hope to the people of Knock in the middle of the Great Potato Faminine.
Many miracles have been attributed to Knock Shrine ever since.
Day 7: Bus from Galway to Dublin
Day 8: Flight Home
Alternatively, I recommend flying into Dublin and home from Shannon Airport if you’re traveling during the summer. Shannon is only about an hour from Galway city so you do not need the extra day to travel back to Dublin before flying home!
In order to book this flight choose “Multi-City” option while purchasing your flight. But make sure your destinations for both ways are correct!!
