I’ve recently felt called to expand my blog to focus not just on sharing what helps my physical health and diet but also what helps my spiritual life and mental health. My Catholic faith has been a huge part of my identify and the person I’ve grown into. Being part of Catholic Young Adult Groups in New Jersey have helped fom me into the person I’ve become.

So I decided to make an easy to access list of all the Young Adult Communities I’ve found on different websites in NJ. That way those who are looking to discover a community near them can easily find one.

If you are part of a young adult community that’s not mentioned here feel free to email me and I’ll gladly add it! yourceliacguide@gmail.com

Why Join A Young Adult Group

Finding community as a young adult can be challenging. Many of us are balancing careers, relationships, and major life decisions, often without the strong support systems we once had in school or college. That’s one reason Catholic young adult groups have become such meaningful spaces for connection. These groups bring together people in their 20s and 30s who share the same faith, values, and desire to grow spiritually while navigating the complexities of adult life.

Joining a Catholic young adult group can deepen your faith in ways that are difficult to achieve alone. Through Bible studies, prayer nights, service projects, community service, retreats, and social events, members are able to explore their faith alongside a group of young adults who are asking many of the same questions. Instead of feeling isolated in your beliefs, you become part of supportive faith communities that encourage spiritual growth, accountability, and authentic friendships rooted in something deeper than just shared hobbies.

Just as important, these groups remind us that faith is meant to be lived in community. From the earliest days of the Church, Christians gathered together to pray, learn, and support one another. Catholic young adult groups continue that tradition today by creating spaces where friendships form, vocations are discerned, and people feel encouraged to live out their faith in everyday life. Whether you’re new to the area, looking to reconnect with your faith, or hoping to meet other Catholics your age, joining a young adult group can be one of the most rewarding ways to build both community and spiritual purpose.

Where I Go:

I love the Petros Community in New Brunswick, NJ! They are an incredible young adult group with over 100 active members. They have multiple different events throughout the month and have a great sense of community. The Petros Community might be the largest YA community in the state. It is under the Diocese of Metuchen. If you live within an hour of New Brunswick I seriously recommend it!

Mary Mother of God in Middletown, NJ is a well-connected community with a Discord Server that is quite active! They meet once a week and have a grounded community.

If you’re interested in non-denominational groups, I’ve just gotten involved with the group “Garden Revival” based out of Mary Mother of God Church in Middletown. I went to their meeting last month, and it was POWERFUL. The Spirit was definitely moving there. There were quite a few Catholic members there, including 2 Catholic Priests!

Another group I definitely would recommend is Young Catholic Professionals of North Jersey. They have an incredible balance of Faith, Formation, and Networking. They focus on nourishing your soul while growing your professional and business network.
